Interventions
At Southbury, we provide a range of interventions to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing. These are designed to help children overcome barriers, develop key skills and make progress with confidence.
Teachers and Learning Assistants deliver interventions throughout the school day, according to children’s individual needs. These may take place individually, in pairs or in small groups and can support areas such as phonics, reading, writing, mathematics and other aspects of learning.
We also offer more specialist support to support children’s wider needs. These include social skills groups, art therapy, speech and language therapy and additional phonics support.
Interventions are selected according to children’s needs and are reviewed to help us understand the progress they are making and identify any further support that may be beneficial.
We work in partnership with parents and carers to support children’s development, helping every child to feel included, build confidence and achieve their potential.
